NW Iowa | If cattle make money and cash flow why give them up if you are not worn down?
You can call a truck and sell them at any time.
On the flip side you can bring them back at any time.
You are already farming the ground.
If you don't need to upgrade eq.
If the land is a good deal and you wouldn't have to worry about making payments,
buy it. If you thought it could take you under don't.
You have no clue if the kids will come back, but we all know
they can' buy much without some kind of help in NW IA.
Land, cattle and eq are pretty liquid as long as you are not upside down on them.....
I'll be 49 in aug, and 2 kids in middle school.
I farm shy of 500 acres with some cows.
I make a living with no hired help.
Edit- No outside hired help, dad still helps in the field.
