Wisconsin | Can't argue with a fiberglass handle, fiberglass won't shrink and swell with moisture like wood does. That's why wood handles get loose.
If you do wood, file, sand or carve it till it will almost go through the head, then coat the handle and socket with JBweld, then drive it in tight, add more JB on the end of the handle to fill the gap, then drive the wedge into the handle. You can leave the handle a 1/4" out or in the head, won't matter. | |
