Subject: RE: Chicken legs or Eggs

coast of Maine
Eggs have more production costs,,picking, packing, grading ,shipping ,display ,losses, many other issues ,feed is more$$ and longer life cycles.A broiler chicken has losses as well but it runs around for less than 12 weeks and goes to slaughter,,frozen often= near zero post kill loss.Different bird.A couple decades back when I was in the chickens still some flocks of spent hens were perused by a company that took the better looking ones to jewish live markets in NYC.They would pull about 50% of the birds, the rest then went to who knows where. We always said campbellos soup,,they just have a couple on a string there now that drags through the broth and then they squirt some MSG in and call it chicken noodle soup,,I suppose ....hehehhe
