 Floyd County, Iowa | You're right, I don't know you. From your comments about "boomers" and young guys not being able to start, I (evidently wrongly) assumed you were one of them. Apologies for that. I should know better than to assume. When someone starts getting on boomers for being in a good position, and not stepping aside because someone wants their operation, I get a little defensive.
No, not selling, yet. We finally got to the place where it's no longer hard work, late nights, don't need the town job, have nice/comfortable equipment, and it's actually fun to farm row crops. Going to enjoy it a little longer.
We have had a couple young people approach us about renting, and our daughters have no interest in the farm. So when either my wife or I get tired of this, it will probably be rented to a small time young person, or sold to one, and quite possibly sold on contract, if they want.
Until then, I just want spring to get here so I can go play in the dirt............. | |
