Chatham Ontario. | Canadians don't hate the American people, I have great respect for alot of people on this site, I really mean that...they loath the leadership. If Canada came on strong to the US, you folks would do the exact same thing. We like buying alot of American made products but with tariffs even that sentiment gets a little sour. There is absolutely no need to have had this happen. As disliked the US leadership is in Canada it will be good for us to smarten up and start building up our productivity again. We all agree Canada has had piz poor leadership the last 10 years. We've got to get out of this rut and act like grownups.
What is truly puzzling to me is how cordial Trump is with Putin and Xi. He treats Canada like garbage or problem child but never attacks the communists. Your trade deficit with China is suppose to be $240B but that gets practically no news time. Maybe when he gets tired of whipping Canada he'll take them on.
There are alot of empty factories in our town. We were quite an important support hub for industry. All these were US companies that closed and moved to the states in the early 80's. I imagine they have long since closed on your side of the border and gone to China.
I have travelled by car across both the US and Canada. We are fortunate to all live in two of the greatest countries in the world.
We will get through this tough spot and go on doing trade but it will be years before it gets back to normal, if ever. | |
