Subject: The case for higher income taxes


Cutting government waste is a noble crusade. Let me get that out there first. I have no doubt that a third of government spending could be surgically axed without the public even noticing.

That isn’t enough to right the ship though. There is just too much paper/imaginary dollars chasing the hard assets such as farmland,gold, and raw materials. Some of these dollars need to be “clawed” back and tariffs and taxes seem like the means to accomplish this. Will come with a lot of kicking,screaming, and crying, but how else do we get the USA back to solid ground?

Trump once proposed a “wealth” tax where Americans would turn over about a third of their wealth to eliminate the national debt. Seems pretty extreme but Trump did once support this notion. Google it.

Anything is possible. Time to get your personal house in order and hang on to your hats. Change is coming.

$4 corn and $10 soybeans may be the new normal for the next decade just like $2 and $5 were back in the 80s where I started navigating my farming journey.
