Schlegel Farms, Hagerstown Indiana | I've wondered if I would have heeded the warnings when I was a teenager about the sun.
Back then, I remember an advertisement for Coppertone (I think that was the name), where a puppy was pulling a little girl's suit bottom down and you could see her white butt....showing off her tan.
We didn't know the sun was bad!
Anyway, I've been dealing with a common old farmer problem this week, skin cancer.
Have had things burnt (liquid nitrogen) off my arms for years, but had it pop up on my lips a couple of years back.
Had radiation treatments last year, but it came back, so they have been cutting this week and last.
They took the one in the middle out last week and biopsied the one on the left. The results came back positive, so they took it out yesterday.
Using a Mohs technique, cut a little and test.....if they don't have it all, they go again....about an hour round trip.
Took two tries last week and got it the first time yesterday.
A couple of the worst things about the deal are that the doctor who does this is in Carmel, In. which is about an hour from home....and I think we went through 15 or 16 roundabouts to get there.
Carmel is the worst town I have ever driven in!
Also, Miller Lite through a straw also sucks.............
