We eat some toasted pecans regularly, usually as a topping on a low carb desert. Maybe 5 or 6 half nutmeats. Not a large amount. My wife would eat macadamia nuts every day but the cost makes her flinch.
As long as the carb count (some nuts are lots higher than others) is within the amount needed for your particular goal (I consider under 120 total grams carbs as being low carb and under 20-50 low carb ketogenic), for most people they are probably acceptable. Are they particularly healthy or more healthy than red meat? Not in my opinion. But I don't think they are horribly bad and a lot better choice than some other pleasure foods or snacks.
