Yes the auto adjust feature is great. Actually adjust pressure as you roll from your back to side sleeping position as needed.
I tried the chin strap and it might have helped if I would keep it on. It just drove me crazy. I sometimes will have problem with temporary congestion where I can not breath through my nose. Made me feel like I was suffocating. That seems odd since I use a nose style headgear on my cpap. You would think I would also not be able to breathe when congested through the nose piece. Yet the positive pressure into my nose allows enough air to pass through and the congestion nearly always goes away quickly and is no longer a problem (unless I have a bad head cold or something like that). Maybe I need one of those nose operations to open up passages - don't know and at almost 71 not really interested in finding out.
Have a sister that could not wear the cpap. I suspect her apnea was not so bad as to make her put up with the headgear till a person gets used to it. If a person has apnea bad enough, they will put up with almost anything once they get a good night of rest. That kind of forces them into getting used to the headgear even if they don't like it. So my sister had an operation that was supposed to fix her apnea. It did not. And the recovery was so horrible for her she said she wished she would have never had it done and would never do it again. This is now many years later and she is suffering from dementia slowly getting worse. Related????? I have no idea, but it makes me wonder if starving the brain from oxygen while sleeping is not a good idea. I have heard it said there can be many things contributing to dementia and that makes sense to me. Maybe stopping breathing while sleeping is one of them.
