If the angles are the same the shafts are parallel to each other
Draw an imaginary line out of the transmission and pinion. Angle the pinion up until the two lines intersect equidistant from the transmission and pinion yoke.
The u-joint angles will be the same. Transmission and pinion will obviously not be parallel. U-joint operating angle will be significantly less than if they were parallel.
Most of the interaxle driveshafts on our semis are set up this way. |
