SOIL | Lots of good advise here, but whatever you do, pick a brand and stick with it!
For basic Auto Steer, I wouldn't get too worked up about this, but if you ever plan to add section control, prescription rates, other advanced features like AutoPath, don't end up in the mess I did a few years ago where I had about one of every brand because it made sense at the time.
I ended up with one unit of every brand (Deere Brown Box, GS2, GS3, G4, Ag Leader, Trimble CFX-750 and FMX, Precision Planting G1 and G2, Raven, CNH Pro 700 and 600) and it was a mess to deal with in the busiest days of the year.
Now I've shaved everything down to work with Deere GS3 & G5, and the tillage tractors still have CNH Pro 700. Deere is hands down my preference, but the 700 is good at one thing...driving straight back and forth.
