Gruver Tx
I run around 25 gals. Out the tail thru 2 pipes and dribble on top. Usually about 1/2 28-0-0-5 and 10-34-0 depending on needs. I run holganix and Miller calfa z max and solugro thru Keaton’s at 8-10 gals. in furrow. I plant into cover crops and stubble feel a good shot at planting gets it off to a great start with the tie up from rye mix. I apply around 180-200 N later thru center pivot. I have a DB60 with a 800 gals tank for tail and mounted another 500 gal tank on tounge for Keaton’s. I usually cover around 40 acres between fill ups. My neighbor who notills and plants into covers also pulls a 1400 tank behind planter along with 1000 on planter and can put higher rates out or go father than I can. I’m 61 and metering seed and two fertilizers is about all I can mentally manage. Usually just set up a cone bottom and separate gooseneck trailer and drive planter to them to fill up. Would love to have a drop deck planter tender trailer pulled by semi like I built for sprayer tender if I wasn’t so close to retirement. I used to strip till for years and this saves a spring trip. My yield goal is 225-250 and occasionally make above 275 so I am happy enough with this system. Still learning for sure on what products to use. Leased land for most part and trying to be as efficient with tractor time and fertilizer placement as I can.
