West Kentucky
Similar everywhere, not all things are for everyone and farmers everywhere like to exaggerate the story to make it sound better. Example, every time Central Illinois and the surrounding region complains about a drought, haha! I know several farmers that had some form of seed tender, pickup, etc ...... 20+ years ago from seed and chemical companies. At least with the CR program, it is available to almost all farmers. A lot of realizing the value is using all the programs Beck's has to offer. If for some reason you don't believe the seed performance is as good or better, then the rest doesn't matter anyways. If you don't believe in the value of the seed treatments or if you believe all the naysayers that cast doubt towards what's is in the treatment or seed performance, then it doesn't much matter either. If you have the ability to negotiate equipment deals that rival or beat the cr program, then that obviously doesn't bring as much value either, but most can not. If you never need the company to have your back with replant no matter the reason or other related reasons, then you won't realize the value in that either. However, if you are in our shoes where our yields rival the best around here....have seen the benefit of the seed treatments and believe it to be higher quality than most other available treatments.....unfortunately have had to use the replant policy more than I care to acknowledge due to some of the areas we farm in....have started using multiple farming practices over the last 20 years due to pfr that have translated into success on our farm.....and in most cases have realized big gains from the value of commitment rewards on our farm.... the list goes on. I guess my point is that not all things are for everyone, but there are great reasons why many of us have chosen to "drink the Kool-Aid". If you tried it and didn't like it, that is okay as well. If you haven't tried it, I would at least give it a taste before I ruled it out. There is a long list of why we have grown Beck's all these years and CR isn't near the top of that list, but it is definitely a valuable asset for our farm and many others in this area. The performance of the corn, soybeans, and wheat has always been and will always remain the number one reason we use Beck's.
