I am saying more guns do not make things 'better'

Look at the stats here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_statistics

Canada 1.4 per capita where gun ownership is minimal and controlled 
US 41.8  where gun ownership is widespread with little control

Seems as though it would be safer for women with fewer guns available
