NCKS | For us, it doesn't cost that much more to grow corn than wheat once you figure in keeping the stubble clean all summer. Its actually cheaper to grow soybeans and milo here than wheat. What made wheat doable forever was doublecropping after it, but that hasn't worked for a while. We've quit until we can make wheat work. We want it to work is the only reason it's lasted this long on our farm. | |
