Floyd County, Iowa | People don't want them near their homes. They are noisy, and that's 24/7. The flicker from the blades is very annoying. These are to be up to 700 ft tall. We want decent setbacks to avoid some noise and flicker. But the companies want less restrictions. The ones that want them don't want them on their land near their homes, they want them on land they own farther from home, but to hell with the neighbors that will have to live near them. There are a couple NATers that like them and have actually said this about living near them.
If they would build them in their own back yard first, there would be less opposition.
