Subject: RE: 15 inch wheat

South Eastern ,ILL
We have planted 15” wheat several times. Last year our 15” was as good in most cases. 116 to 84 bpa. The main advantages I see is less seeding cost
1.2 million vs broadcast 1.7 million & planting the double crop beans
at a slight angle, it’s easier to get a nice stand vs the broadcast fields.
That being said we got in a big hurry this fall an broadcast all our wheat,
worked it in with a GreatPlanes Terra Max. We have an excellent stand
( maybe to good) we may end up spraying the wheat with Palasade
to shorten it up , with less straw to deal with.
