Subject: Eliminating perennial rye for future wheat

Bloomfield MO
I’ve got a couple farms that are loaded with perennial rye. These farms have been beans for several consecutive years due to the marginal soil. The rye has been great to no till into and soil conditions have improved but I’m wanting to rotate some wheat on it. In my are, aside from garlic, rye is about the worst thing to have in wheat. Im either gonna plant beans or milo on these farms this year and try to plant wheat back in the fall. What’s the best way to get a jump on this rye?
