You do not need to work it in, it will grow and you will have it growing there for years to come if you let it go to seed . Or your first plan of letting it grow and plant milo into it is a good one also ,use a half rate Of N on it. You might want to spray the triticale out early with clethodim if planting to milo, than plant milo into it green and terminate vetch. Vetch really stimulates the earth worms they are making your soil mellow while the vetch is growing, do some digging with a shovel when the vetch get some growth on it.
