Since you clarified your original post, I will stick with my original guess and I would also add that with the slits in the pipe, it might be hard to get a deep watering. Edit to add, you may have to try a few and see how it goes. Might be a good experiment and the slits in the pipe might cause the roots to air prune leading to a heavier root mass. Good luck
