Northern Indiana | Everyone has a different management style.
Some want to plant it and forget it, and protect against anything that has threatened the crop ever. They maybe don’t have the time or ability to watch after their crop as much. Some scout regularly and have a good knowledge of what is happening in their fields.
In my opinion if that is the only way you can get the hybrid that you want. Buy the additional traits.

Edit to add: another thought is if you are applying fungicide an insecticide is cheap to spray at the same time. Depending on fungicide application(s)
