I'm no scientist either, and only a small farmer. But jumping your calcium up is only one part of the equation. While yes, it would help to get some more out there, it won't proportionally lower the sodium. It will affect the base saturations of the K, Mg, and H as well. So by jumping up the calcium, you will lower the sodium maybe a little bit, but you will also lower the other 3 as well which might not be very helpful. It's much easier to raise a pH level than it is to lower one so zooming up into the near 8 pH range wouldn't be my first choice.

All that sodium needs to go somewhere. It's probably good you're not talking about throwing out a bunch of sulfur if you don't have drain tile. It would want to move the sodium out, but couldn't. Heftys talk about trying to work in some sort of bio material like corn stalks or whatever and then plant those spots to barley forever. If you did get it tiled, at those high levels, it would take some serious time and water to get it down.

I'm not familiar with Kansas soil so someone else might have better answers!
