MB, Canada | I would consider these guys to be in moderate condition. I personally like my heifers a bit fatter but I'm also coming from a place where we can get below -20 for long stretches and that extra fat goes a long way in my climate. If anything I'm guessing that grazing might be a bit rich, so if you see runny manure then it would be worth putting a bale of dry hay out to slow down digestion a bit. Even though the hay might be a lower TDN than the grazing, they're not getting the full potential of grazing if it's going right through them. | |
