It is too bad people can't buy dynamite easily any more. It is way more fun, cleans the dirt off the roots better than any piece of equipment, and splits the roots into smaller pieces, all at the same time. I still have a blasters license, so it is my preferred method when in the open. Track hoe with thumb doesn't tear up the ground as much as a dozer, at least in my experience. Dupont used to have a special section in their blasters handbook dedicated to stump removal, and root stimulation for orchards.

Agreed! Blasting stumps is very rewarding when done right.
