I grew up with tc40d mew Holland hydrostat as the lil tractor on the farm. Absolutely loved it was very capable for it's size. My uncle had the 55 and not nearly as good a tractor as the 40. He had more issues with it. If using around the house you're right on track. If using for field work it's ok. We would move 2 4x5 Bale's but was sketchy on the hills. No experience with backhoes on them but I'd probably skip. My dad upgraded to a 59hp mf couple years ago and likes it for the extra hp but not built as versatile as the old boomer series.
