CNY
I would pick 8100 Deere if I was in your situation.
7810’s are nice, handy, nimble but their prices reflect that. The prices I see on 7810’s are crazy high, unless you can find a nice old widow with one tucked in her barn and get a deal on it.
I would avoid any of those earlier MX’s. My experiences were with a 240 and 270 and between the 2 would be lucky if we could keep 1 going. Hoses under the cab blowing, transmission issues, injectors. Lots of stuff to keep them running that wasn’t cheap. They had 4-6000 hours on them.
Which leaves the 8100. I really don’t think they get around much worse than a 7810 and in my experience 8000 series Deere’s just run and run. Can’t beat the cab layout and overall quality with them.

I have been watching your questions this fall. I was in a similar position this fall needing a 200 hp mfwd tractor. I won’t buy Case with our dealer. We have a very good New Holland dealer and I kept looking at Genesis. Anyways one weekend I went to Ohio to look at what I thought was a mint Genesis. It was a pos when I got there and I ended up buying a JD 8300 on the way home. It was more than I wanted to spend but it’s in really good shape and should last me a long time.
