Iowa | My dad bought a 2wd 7810 around the year 2000 that we still have. It was the biggest tractor we had at the time, so it has gone from the main tillage tractor, to now basically just being used to pull the pull sprayer or as a backup. They are reliable tractors with a quiet cab, but they are light and bouncy for the hp that they have. Ours has the max rear and front weights recommended by Deere and it still can't get the full engine power to the ground with duals and it's pretty bouncy. Ours has pulled my 12/24 box planter before, but I'm not sure I would want to do a 16/31 with it. I would vote for either the 8100, I would also make sure it was 200+hp, mfwd, and it's an extra bonus if it has a built in auto steer valve already. | |
