Married to an elementary teacher and have met many of the coworkers, not a great idea to arm them for a couple reasons. First is most don’t have any interest in learning to handle a gun and some just outright scared of them. Second is that would mean having a gun in the classroom. Not a huge deal in elementary because it could be placed high enough that the kids couldn’t get to it easily but could definitely be an issue in upper grades. I fully support having retired police or military in the school but they cannot become complacent or a would be shooter will figure out a way around them in short order.

Bring out the long guns out and it changes .
