I like this thought

It looks like I will be the last person to farm what my grandpa bought back in the 30’s as far as family farming it.

I have bought several farms and sold several farms. Some farms were bought to keep. I have doubled the amount of acres my grandpa had that are contiguous, fence line farms , to the original home farm. My kids want the land and I will figure out a way to pass it along to them.

I have 2 farms yet that I would call investment farms. I am not a big stock market person so I invested in land am going to need some money if I live long enough to retire. They maybe sold and when I originally bought them , that was my plan. My kids have seen the struggle to continue a farm, they want nothing to do with that struggle. I don’t blame them, and I am happy with the paths they are taking.

We are getting invaded with houses and sheds compared to when I was a kid. It’s a good feeling to me that almost a whole section in lakes country should stay relatively undeveloped, that is where our generational farm sits. , it’s actually better hunting land than farming, so I guess I need a new rifle…. Not a new tractor
