In feed yards that charge yardage plus feed markup, yardage charges generally run about 5 cents/head/day.
And I think that includes the feed truck and the manure hauling.
I do realize that all renters feel a obligation to give all the profit and then some to the land owner.
I own my yards but if I wanted to rent the neighbors and do all the upkeep and offered $20/day ($7200/year) for 400 head I bet I could have several older yards around here..... Dennis | |
