Huh???? What capital is tied up? I could invest in land or stock market, both pay the same.
The capital that is tied up that isn’t returning you enough to live on or pay for land expenses or even the taxes incurred. Maybe I read what you posted wrong but it sure sounds like you’re subsidizing the farm with a job which is fine. At some point the business has to stand on its own and that includes returning capital to labor.
