Looks to me that California “gave” him a chit ton of money……. Aggressive California emissions policies funneling incentives to electric cars for consumers. His cars actually had “consumer appeal” so apparently the more cars you sell the more of the $9 billion “regulatory” carbon offset credits he was able to sell.
