Practical is what we call ownership that day we can fly two states away to look at a corn head. Make a parts run to the other side of the state, or scout crops from the air after the big rain. Yes I have done all that and much more. Practical is of course in the eye of the beholder. Cost effective ownership is another matter.

I love planes far more than tractors. I flew it tonight, just to get a bit more time before the insurance renewal. Cherokee 180. Full IFR panel, but I never completed my instrument training. I will not push my luck in IFR conditions, clouds are okay, but not storms in clouds and especially not ever getting into icing conditions. That is completely nuts, even in a plane so equiped.
