Sac & Story county IA | Not very practical. It does teach a lot of things like weather, mechanical of the plane, navigation, the air traffic control infrastructure. I loved the challenge of touching the wheels to the runway. If a person wants to be proficient for much more than flying on a near perfect day, you need lots of recent experience. If flying in clouds, instrument, a person should go shoot approaches every week.
Married, kids, farm thing of the 80s, I haven't flown since. I would rather ride in the back of an Airbus and have someone else worry about things like weather, fuel, annual inspection, airworthiness directives. | |
