| Republican's have mostly been all talk on the deficit and no action for the entire century. Dems are no better but I don't hear them talking about deficit problems as much as the Republicans do. Hopefully republicans can actually take action on meaningful deficit reductions and not just shift who gets the government cheese from the democrats favorite interest groups to the republican favorite interest groups.
Let's not forget, there's two sides to the ledger. Income and spending. I'm all for reduced government and taxes, but I'd like to see them get the spending under control before cutting the income (taxes) side. Cutting taxes is easy, cutting spending is not. Obviously if you cut taxes big time and only cut spending a bit, we're still in a worse spot fiscally than where we started and that's actually what I foresee happening. So I predict we will again witness mostly just talk on getting the deficit under control. | |
