| I guess I would also distrust medical community if you were following your doctors advice being diabetic and allowing yourself to consume pizza, candy bars, and pop. In general most Doctors would focus on a healthy diet combined with insulin as needed.
A caloric deficit will lead to weight loss no matter what type of diet you eat. Weight loss will improve your overall health if you’re overweight. Exercise will expedite and improve results. As we get older our hunger decreases.
I am glad Keto worked for your family without any of the serious side effects the diet can have, but I feel a balanced diet and exercise can vastly improve your life also with less chance of the keto side effects.
