Chebanse, IL..... | Well, everyone has been throwing around the term "drones" because it was night and they couldn't see them, only lights. Now on the news this a.m., it seems investigations by authorities indicate they were merely airplanes or helicopters. But, that's another story.
Anyone can probably drive a car, fly an airplane, fly a drone, own/shoot many guns, own illegal explosives, have multiple wives, and never get caught. It's probably done every day.
Then, there are those that inadvertently allow their car license lapse by a few months & get nailed. If you're in an accident, you'll get nailed big time.
Same with little drone licenses. You might be OK until something happens. If you are the type that nothing bad ever happens to you...then go for it. I haven't heard of anyone from the FAA just stopping by a field watching someone fly a drone over their corn field and asking for proper paper work.
FAA inspectors also don't fly into airports and demand to see proper paperwork from airplane pilots. But again, get involved in an incident and they'll be there talking to you. |
