Central Nebraska | It is straight forward. Install radio on outside of house, wire it to router inside house. Install radio on shop. Wire it to router inside shop. Log into each radio and configure with appropriate IP address, subnet, gateway, SSID, and encryption settings. Turn of DHCP on router in shop so it acts as an access point Enjoy fast, reliable internet in shop.
For the record, I have fiber buried to my shop. Before I built an office and moved some of my network management stuff to the shop it was on a wireless link. I have several other wireless links that have been untouched since they were setup 6 years ago. Links across farm yards are easy if you can have line of site. I have several going 2+ miles where on radio is less than 10' off the ground and the other is on top of a bin.
