Subject: RE: Debating what to do for RTK correction service for next year

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
I read these posts with interest since we are in a somewhat similar situation but the "other way around". I have used an Ag Leader GPS 7500 unlocked and subscribed to TerraStar Pro C for a few years now. I have been very happy with it. We do not have the need for exact repeatability that some might. I find that setting a new AB line for harvesting soybeans works out fine with Steady Steer on the combine. I harvest with a 35' draper on 30" rows and the alignment does not need to be perfect. I use a feeler system for corn harvest.

It has been suggested that I purchase the RTK option for my 7500 and go with Mn CORS or something of the like. This might give me better results although I've been happy enough and save the yearly subscription fee. I'm tempted but yet reluctant to change since I've had such good success with the current arrangement. I really don't want to get involved with a system that requires installation of equipment on any type of tower. For me, the TerraStar just works fine although the subscription fee seems to increase. For whatever reason (Luck?) we did not experience GPS problems associated with Solar Flares last Spring or Fall.

I have 2 Ag Leader GPS 6500's on WAAS and one Ag Leader GPS 7500 with TerraStar. I move the 7500 from the planter tractor to the Hagie Sprayer to the combine with the seasons. Having the 3 GPS receivers gives me great flexibility in moving them around to best make use of the paid subscription.
