when you subscribe to someone on Youtube, what does it cost me and how do they get paid, where does the money come from?
Subscription: it is the equivalent of signing up for an email list. You get a notification, usually, when they do something. The cost is nothing.
How do they get paid: they receive a share of the advertising revenue for the advertising played before, during, and after the video they make.
Where does the money come from: whoever wants to pay Google to advertise on YouTube.
Also, some YouTube channels may be independently sponsored, like Welker Farms with Case IH and Demco, Millennial Farmer with John Deere and Thunder Creek, Brian Farm(i can't recall the name of the channel, but I think his name is Brian) with Agco, and Cole the cornstar with AGI |
