Le Sueur VIA St.Thomas

Hello,

My 8 port switch is a tp-link TL-SG108S and the other is a TL-SG1024S.  I took a picture of the basement switch for documentation. I had also bought a new ethernet cable just to swap out for troubleshooting purposes. Before switching it I ran another speed test and mesh test. speed was 500up and 38 down. I ran a mesh test and both points were now 'excellent' - a change from the 'good' I got 2 days ago.

That was odd. I went down next to the satellite in the basement and ran a wifi speed test off that wifi point. The speed test came back with 667 down, the same spot I had got the 100 down a couple days ago. The other satellite is connected to the basement switch and that was fast, too.  Now everything seems normal?

I checked the basement computer to triple check. That was fast, too. Check out the picture- port one is feed from the 1st switch, ports 3 & 5 are the wifi points and 21 goes to one of my kid's computers. After getting the fast results from that computer I looked at the switch again and port 13 gigabit light was on, too. That's the port the computer was connected to.  That computer hadn't been used in a few days, so maybe the gigabit switch doesn't light up until gigabit data passes through it.

Anyway, it's all good now... The only thing that I did between my last post and now has been to jiggle the cables while checking out the switches. Maybe an ethernet cable that has a slightly poor connection that repaired itself after jiggling?

good luck -jim
