NW Missouri | We get along good with fenceline weaning too - but in the past we weaned at my place and had a fairly small lot to feed the calves in, so it was pretty easy for 1 person to stand between the bunks and the fence when feeding them to make sure they all ate instead of standing at the fence and bawling. This year we increased numbers and I set up a larger pen so we could feed the calves with a cake feeder instead of buckets. That pen was way too big - it took 4 people that first day to get them all to the bunk. If it was like that every year, I probably wouldn't like fenceline weaning either.
