| A .243 is wonderful Whitetail medicine. 100 grain soft points will put them down in short order. At .243 sectional density (what are the odds of that) a 100 grain bullet can penetrate deeply on a high shoulder shot, my most preffered aiming point, and break both shoulders, anchoring even the biggest whitetails right where they stood. You don’t need big boom sticks to kill deer, they aren’t that hard. A couple over achievers also that are easy on the shoulder would be a 6.5x55 Swedish, and a 7mm-08, another simply awesome round for CPX-2 class game. Have fun, it’s my favorite time of the year.
