Ending the freebies would slow down the influx but as long as they can make a better living here, they will & have always been illegal immigration. There would be participation in a legal non-citizen worker program. A fair number of the illegals do not necessarily want to stay here year round. My experience is they work & stay here when work is available & go back during the slower time of the year. Dealing with the cartels & hassel of border crossings, etc... would be reduced. As I stated earlier, politically it would never work. Not as long as the Gov. keeps providing the freebies. To them it's a never ending gravy train to groom future voters.
