I cancelled someone's dish a couple weeks ago - who legitimately did move to a nursing home - and I was shocked how easy it went. I don't even have the same last name, and I didn't try to pretend I was them either. But I knew all the information I needed to know and the call lasted about 10 minutes. When they went to transfer me at one point, I told them not to bother giving me the hard sell because they literally didn't live there anymore and if I had to, I'd just shut off the autopay, but I thought being upfront would be easier. Evidently that worked.
