Subject: RE: RIP Crew Cab Pickups

The Internet

They are a lot smaller than your pickups here's the Ford Ranger https://www.ford.co.uk/vans-and-pickups/ranger

The way vehicles are licensed here means that if you have a car license you are limited on weight. I can drive up to 7.5t because of when I passed my driving test, but that was reduced a few years ago. Those Rangers and Hiluxs will have a towing capacity of 3500kg max and I think 5500kg maxium gross weight. If you want to weigh and pull more than that you need our equivalent of a CDL, then the sky is the limit. Some people are towing commerically with pickups, even big SUV's, however, they would still need a tachograph (Elog), obey drivers hours and all of the other hoops commercial vehicles have to to jump through, which makes them a non starter.
