I believe the reason the wrist cuff monitors were made is ease of use and maybe cost or portability.

The newer style pre formed arm cuffs are implemented easily with one hand. So I think the ease of use advantage no longer exists. So I see no reason to have one. The costs for new monitors are pretty reasonable.
