| He is probably only seeing what is going on in his immediate area. We live on the TN/NC state line and got hit pretty hard. I lost half of what I had for a 40 mama herd. Many of my neighbors lost more. The main road into town is open and we have nearly gotten enough for everyone in my community to get by for this winter. 7 miles to the north of me there are no roads for a few dozen farmers. It will be a couple of months before anything besides a side by side can get into them. They are stockpiling hay at the fairgrounds for folks like that that cannot be reached by a truck for a couple of months. If you were at the fairgrounds it would appear that there is plenty of hay, but there is a need as soon as roads are built back. I know Asheville area is worse. | |
