| It’s interesting hearing about the variety of ways people farm in general, including this bin issue. It would be nice to be able to just haul my grain to the elevator off the fields but that just isn’t realistic. Grain movement here isn’t even remotely close to reliable enough and the elevators are often full most years. I don’t know a single farm here that doesn’t have storage for the majority of their crop and new big bins are going up every year. Often a portion of the stored grain is presold to be delivered at a future date though. Another factor is often the freshly harvested grain is put into storage tough and has to be dried down with aeration before delivery anyways.
When it comes to grain storage it definitely appears it is a what works here might not work there type of issues.
