Central Coast, California | It is unfortunate that your friend got hurt.
You mention that he is in the pro rodeo hall of fame and that these people getting hurt are professional rodeo cowboys.
That doesn't mean much when it comes to ranch work. I know more than a few guys and gals that fit the above description. Many are great hands on the ranch, more are pretty hopeless. Same can be said for their horses.
I also know the few pro rodeo guys who have cattle or run ranches call working cowboys when they need to get stuff done on the ranch. It's a very different skill set for both the cowboy and the horse
I also know that rodeo cowboys and working cowboys get hurt alot.
If your friend is as experienced as you say he is he has been in more wrecks than he can count and succeeded by being tougher than just about anybody. He's not going to quit until he decides it's time.
